In 2020 we started Corriedoun Akaushi. These animals were born from embryos that were imported from the USA.

Our goal for the business is to be a premium breeder and supplier of Akaushi genetics (semen, embryos, live Bulls and Females). We understand the importance of investing in the right genetics from the start and then providing the optimal environment for those cattle to grow. Our specialist team work to have successful embryo implantation and insemination for Australian conditions. We work within the Australian guidelines in relation to welfare and nutrition to ensure our growth program and system processes are to the best standard.

We aim to develop the ideal supply pathway for the outcome you are looking for, from farm/ surrogate selection, backgrounding, finishing programs and manage exports either as a live animal or fully processed product.

Right from birth, our herd are handled calmly but also exposed to a range of different handling methods. On farm, we use horses, motorbikes, side-by-sides and foot to move the cattle around the paddocks in a rotational system. All our cattle are grass-fed, but from a young age are offered additional feed such as hay/ silage, pellets, canola meal and a lick. This is to allow the rumen to develop to its full potential and increase the animals’ ability to get the most from its feed intake.
